Spring renewal

Share

This week we enthusiastically threw ourselves into the spring renewal, because we were really looking forward to running around in the good warm sunshine, playing in the yard. We talked about what changes take place in nature at spring time: the flowers start to sprout, the trees bud, the sun shines more and more, it gets warmer. But rainy, sometimes windy weather is also part of spring. We also tried to observe the little blooming flowers in the yard. The children were enchanted by the snowdrops and tulips, we smelled them and then associated Vivaldi’s Spring with this scent. We talked a lot about the different spring flowers. However, we also said that the snowdrop is a protected plant and should only be picked if it grows in our garden. At our handicraft session, we made spring flowers with several techniques. We watched Teacher Eri’s kindergarten puppet show about the prince who had become a tulip, and then captured our impressions in a drawing. We spent a lot of time in the yard, but we also created an opportunity to go to the nearby playground to play. Our eventful week was spent in a real spring, cheerful mood!
